UK Wealth Firm Sets Up In The Big Apple

LJ Partnership, the London-headquartered private wealth partnership, has made several appointments as it opens a New York office as part of its international expansion plans.
The new team and office in New York brings the private wealth partnership’s international presence to eight office locations across Europe, Asia and the Americas, the firm said in a statement.
The team members joined LJ Partnership from HighTower Advisors, prior to which they worked together at Guggenheim Investment Advisors. They specialise in investment advisory and management of alternative assets for high net worth families, family offices and foundations.
The team is headed by Christopher Shin, former head of US portfolio management at Guggenheim Investment Advisors. Shin has also held senior roles at Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns. Shin has been appointed as partner of LJ Partnership.
Other team members include Jeffrey Fulk, who has over 10 years’ experience of financial markets, and Katharine Drake. They join as managing director and client service manager, respectively.
Fulk was a managing director at HighTower Advisors and a member of the US portfolio management team at Guggenheim Investment Advisors. Drake has previously worked as part of the private wealth groups at both Raymond James and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
“Opening in New York is an important step for the firm and will form the foundation for our growth in Investment Management in North America,” said Alexander de Meyer, chief executive of LJ Partnership.
LJ Partnership supervises in excess of $14bn of assets and advises individuals, family offices, foundations and charities worldwide. LJ Partnership is regulated in six countries, including the FCA in the UK, the SFC in Hong Kong and the SEC in the US.
